I've dyed my hair before, using henna. It came out a surprisingly bright red. My daughters talked me into it. They'd been considering using henna themselves but wanted someone else to try it out first. I found this out later, after I had become an unwitting guinea pig.

As women in British society grow older, and hair turns grey, it seems we become invisible. I wanted to counteract that by dyeing my hair an unnaturally bright colour. This time it was my excellent hairdresser Leanne Kelly who talked me into it. https://www.facebook.com/LeannekellyHairdressing

She was pushing at an open door. I'd already been admiring other women who had brightly coloured highlights in their hair. Now I'm one of them. It feels exhilarating.

This is #6 of 70.

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

I'm Jane B. 69 years old and still learning about life. Setting up this blog was the first new thing of 70 things, new to me, I hope to (try to) do in my 70th year. Let me know if you have any ideas of things I could try. Why not subscribe to join me on the journey towards 70 in January 2025?

Let the posts
come to you.
