I'm Jane Anne Brocklehurst, a woman in her seventieth year who wants to focus on the positive side of life. What can I do? What can I try out that I've never done before? Not only to give myself a challenge and new experiences but also to share the joy with those who read this blog.

It's not about denying the pain and struggle in the world we hear about through The News. I could write all about my own aches and pains, my failures and disappointments, only I wouldn't expect anyone to enjoy reading that.

Instead I challenge myself to go on learning and discovering, to make the last part of my life as richly varied and exciting as the first of life was, when everything was new. The idea is to do 70 things I have never done before by the time I reach my 70th birthday in January 2025 and record it all in the Seventy before 70 blog.
