BLUE (& Yellow & Orange & Red)
October is a colourful month in many ways. I love the "bright blue weather" to reference an old poem, as all the leaves turn amazing colours and I want to be outside, to wear all that beauty, before the leaves fall off the trees and the nights start drawing in.
GREEN
My own colourful self-adornment was to have my nails painted by someone else for the first time. Not far from where I live a newly-qualified young nail technician was looking for local customers (at a very good rate) to practise her newfound skills. My gardener's (and typist's) nails were in a sorry state but I am going to try to look after them better using the tips from my young manicurist.*

PINK
Pink chai is made by adding fenugreek seeds to hot milk, which turns the milk pink, then sprinkling pistachio on the top. Meeting old friends in Rugby for a chat to catch up after many months apart, we searched in vain for a traditional English tea shop. However, we found Karak Chaii where they served us pink chai and it proved a pleasant if unfamiliar beverage to share on a chilly afternoon.
It takes a lifetime to make an old friend. Love my friends Laura and Peter! I met my husband at their wedding.

*PS The use of cuticle oil has become part of my regular bedtime routine. After peeling off the gel and applying an emery board my fingernails are in the best condition they've known for many years. So can I claim that this one of my seventy new things has been life changing?
